The Memorial Hall is one of the larger halls in South Devon offering reasonably priced facilities for a wide range of local events, fundraisers, concerts, meetings and family celebrations. It is available for hire by individuals and groups.

Experience an unforgettable evening of live music in Devon as Moscow Drug Club bring their unique blend of jazz, cabaret and world music to Modbury Memorial Hall. Renowned for their captivating performances and outstanding musicianship, Moscow Drug Club create an intoxicating musical journey that has delighted audiences across the UK and Europe.

Named after the BB Gabor song about an underground jazz club during the Cold War, Moscow Drug Club seamlessly blend 1930s Berlin Cabaret, Hot Club de France, French musette, Nuevo Tango, Latin grooves, New Orleans swing and Gypsy jazz into a rich, theatrical performance unlike any other.

Combining acclaimed original songs with beautifully reimagined classics by Jacques Brel, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Eartha Kitt, the five-piece ensemble has spent over a decade selling out venues and earning a reputation for delivering intimate, sophisticated and utterly memorable live performances.

  • The Memorial Hall is ideal for hosting our toddler group. It’s a safe space, with plenty of room for the children to play and use of the kitchen means we can prepare drinks and snacks for both the children and adults. Being located next to the play park is also a huge advantage!

How to find the hall

From Plymouth on the A379 pass the Modbury town sign, negotiate a double bend and then turn left at Palm Cross Green towards Dartmouth. Almost immediately turn right before the Primary School into Back Street – the Memorial Hall is on the right.

From Kingsbridge on the A379 go through the centre of Modbury and up Church Street. At the top turn right at Palm Cross Green and then, as above, right again before the School into Back Street.
